"Kvarterhuset", a community centre in Kolding
To a great extent, Kvarterhuset in Kolding makes
use of the natural possibilities for passive solar energy, daylight
and natural ventilation. On the basis of field measurements, a group
of students estimated how to improve the indoor environment of the
building, and how the energy consumption for heating and ventilation
could be reduced. The new solutions suggested were
documented by detailed simulations of the performance of the building throughout a typical year. The solutions
have now been implemented.
